Commercial Litigation / Business Divorce
Commercial Litigation
Commercial litigation is a broad term referring to disputes and claims arising from business dealings between parties. Commercial litigation claims encompass disputes related to the purchase and sale of goods, claims between business parties for unpaid debts, breaches of fiduciary or other duties arising from a business or commercial relationship, and other claims stemming from business relationships. Commercial litigation claims are often complex because they can involve multiple parties, complicated agreements and contracts, significant assets, and high-stakes claims. Our team has extensive experience handling complex litigations. We guide our clients to understand the details of each matter and claim and assess every detail to create a complete picture of the facts and law.
We have represented clients in a wide range of contract and investment-related business disputes. These have included bankruptcy cases involving disputes over unpaid debts and breaches of supply contracts, business disputes alleging breaches of partnership agreements and fiduciary duty, and cases involving allegations of fraud and breaches of contracts across a range of transaction types.
Business Divorce
Sometimes business partners decide it is time to end their relationship. Sometimes their relationship breaks down so that it is not possible to continue to operate the business. These circumstances, sometimes referred to as a “business divorce,” can result in acrimony, distrust, and legal claims. Our team understands both the personal and emotional aspects of business separations and works diligently to arrive at an outcome that is most favorable for our client. We have substantial experience guiding clients through the process of dividing assets, allocating liabilities, identifying breaches of fiduciary duty, and resolving disputes between shareholders, partners, members, and other stakeholders.
